MARI-AN C. SANTOS holds a bachelor’s degree in film from the University of the Philippines Diliman and master’s degrees in advertising and brand from the “Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu (Romania) and in women’s and gender studies from the University of Lodz (Poland) and the Universidad de Granada (Spain). She is a three-time Catholic Mass Media Award nominee. In 2023, she received second prize at the UNRISD Crises of Inequality Media Contest and was part of the Aries Rufo Journalism Fellowship. Her first book, “Star of Samar: Bancas to Rebuild Lives,” was published in 2024.
